Upon gaining a level, a hero may choose to gain a rank in Attribute Bonus instead of another skill.

Attribute Bonus, also known as Stats, is a passive ability possessed by every hero except Invoker. Each additional level of Attribute Bonus increases all attributesStrength, Agility, and Intelligence—by 2. Attribute Bonus is distinct from the automatic attribute increases gained by every Hero at every level. In contrast to regular abilities and ultimates, Heroes can gain a level in Attribute Bonus at every level. Attribute Bonus can be leveled a maximum of 10 times.

Attribute Bonus is a convenient way to compensate for a Hero's early-game weakness without filling inventory space. For example, Skeleton King and Sven have very low Intelligence, so they often take a few early levels of Attribute Bonus to improve their maximum mana.

Adding a level to Attribute Bonus is functionally equivalent to wearing a Circlet.

What does a hero truly need? Much depends upon the hero.

Notes:
• Attribute Bonus can be leveled 10 times.

• Because of the associated bonuses of each Attribute, each rank of Attribute Bonus has the following cumulative effects:
2 Damage;
38 Maximum Health;
0.06 Health Regeneration;
0.28 Armor;
2 Attack Speed;
26 Maximum Mana;
0.08 Mana Regeneration.
