Lucifer the Doom Bringer is a melee strength Hero with strong farming and laning capabilities. He has low starting Armor, but his abilities and high health allow him to lane effectively even while being harassed. A ruthless and malicious demon, this terrifying monster possesses demonic powers revolving around evil and death and is a towering force that uses his lethal abilities to annihilates his adversaries. His Devour ability allows him to consume creeps, gaining any powers that creep had. He is quite capable of farming in the jungles for quick gold and creep powers to absorb. Doom Bringer has been feared by many due to his ultimate, Doom, which is known to deal intense damage and counter any Hero rendering them useless.
He is recommended for intermediate players.

| Lore: |
He that burns and is not consumed, devours and is never sated, kills and is beyond all judgment—Lucifer brings doom to all who would stand against him. Bearing away souls on the tip of a fiery sword, he is the Fallen One, a once-favored general from the realm behind the light, cast out for the sin of defiance: he would not kneel.
Six times his name was tolled from the great bell of Vashundol. Six and sixty times his wings were branded, until only smoking stumps remained. Without wings, he slipped loose from the tethers that bound him within the light and he fell screaming to earth. A crater in the desert, Paradise lost. Now he attacks without mercy, without motive, the only living being able to move freely between the seven dark dominions. Lashed by inescapable needs, twisted by unimaginable talents, the Doom Bringer carries his own hell with him wherever he goes. Defiant to the last. Eventually, the world will belong to Doom.

Notes:
- Gives Doom Bringer the original bounty of the creep, along with the bonus gold corresponding to each level of the skill.
- The less HP a unit has when it is devoured, the less time it will take Doom Bringer to devour it. It takes one second for Doom Bringer to devour 20HP from the devoured target.
- Ignores magic immunity.
- You cannot devour ancient, mechanical, or flying units.
- Can target units as well as creeps. Cannot target heroes.
- If a neutral creep is targeted, you gain its abilities until you replace them with another creep's abilities.
- (*) Allowed levels increase with each level, starting at 2 for first level devour, then 4, 5, and 6 at each upgrade.

Notes:
- The flames follow Doom Bringer for the duration of the ability.
|
|
|
Notes:
- Unlike other silences, Doom prevents the target from using items and disables some passive abilities.

Explanation:
A stout shield and tangos/salves are taken first to let you stay on lane until you get other items. Ring of Health (later Vanguard) is taken fast to be able to stay in lane even after being harassed and Ring of Basilus is taken for the cheap mana regeneration and armor you will need. Radiance is rushed to make it more effective (the earlier the better) Phase boots are chosen over the others as it gives you a really powerful normal attack and being able to move through units (which is great as Doom's model is really big) as well as improving your chase with Radiance. The rest of the items make Doom pretty hard to kill, as well as harassing/weakening the opposing team.

[edit] Trivia
- Several of Doom Bringer's abilities are inspired by Final Fantasy's Blue Mages. LVL? Death was probably inspired by the Level 5 Death skill. Devour, was an ability in Final Fantasy VIII who lets the user consumes monster to gain attributes, although it seems to be more aligned with Final Fantasy's IX's Quina Quen's eat and cook abilities in which this Blue Mage would actually eat his/her enemies in order to gain their spells and abilities. Finally, his ultimate, Doom, also shares the same name of another Blue Mage's ability, Doom, however the mechanics of each spell are different.
- His name, Lucifer, is the name of a fallen angel who is known as the Devil in the Bible.
