Enigma is a ranged hero who uses his skills to disable or overwhelm opponents. Usually played as an initiator, he can also be found in the jungle in the early game to raise a void army of eidolons using Demonic Conversion. He usually blinks into the middle of a crowd of enemy heroes to disable them for a ridiculously long period of time with his Black Hole, which is usually enough for any decent team to dominate any resulting team fight. Due to the long cooldown and channelling nature of his ultimate, and his relative fragility, Enigma is recommended for intermediate to advanced players.

Lore: Nothing is known of Enigma’s background. There are only stories and legends, most of them apocryphal, passed down through the ages. In truth, Enigma is a mystery for whom the only true biography is description: he is a universal force, a consumer of worlds. He is a being of the void, at times corporeal, other times ethereal. A beast between the planes.

There are stories that say he was once a great alchemist who tried to unlock the secrets of the universe and was cursed for his arrogance. Other legends tell that he is an ancient being of strange gravity, the abyss personified—a twisted voice from out the original darkness, before the first light in the universe. And there are older legends that say he is the first collapsed star, a black hole grown complicated and sentient—his motivations unknowable, his power inexorable, a force of destruction unleashed upon existence itself.

Splits a creep into three malevolent aspects of itself, all under Enigma's control. Repeated successful attacks cause them to multiply again; when this happens, the eidolons have their health restored.

Enigma is capable of tearing a being into another dimension - the result is a trio of ethereal eidolons that haunt the corporeal plane.

Notes:

  • The converted enemy unit will give you gold bounty and experience.
  • Eidolons will multiply when they have attacked 6 times. When this happens their health is restored.

  • When starting a hero battle, if possible try to cast Midnight Pulse first, then Black Hole. The four seconds used while you are channeling your ultimate, you will have also drained their HP by 12%/16%/20%/24% respective to the ability's level. You should animation cancel the Midnight Pulse to give your opponents as little time to react as possible.

  • Added expire display to Eidolons.
  • Demonic Conversion can now be cast on siege units.
  • Eidolon's will replicate at the start of the 7th attack instead of at the end of the 6th.
  • Midnight Pulse now affects creeps but not ancients.
  • Black Hole doesn't affect Ancients.
  • Black Hole debuff can no longer be purged.
  • Black Hole now does damage once a second for 4 seconds.
  • Fixed Black Hole pull speed to be 40 instead of 60.
