Tequoia the Nature's Prophet (sometimes known simply as Prophet) is not your average intelligence Hero - he relies more on his strong physical attacks than his spells to take down enemy Heroes. Most commonly played as a pusher and jungler and rarely as a support, he can sometimes transition into a semi-carry role later in the game thanks to his damaging physical attacks and considerable attack speed. Nature's Prophet has an ultimate with a global range; coupled with the omnipresence that Teleportation gives him, he is easily able to assist in ganks and defenses at any time, no matter where he may be when they start - this same presence makes the Prophet a serious threat for enemies that leave their buildings unguarded.
Like other pushers, with proper map awareness and practice, he can clear hordes of creeps and destroy multiple towers unaided, gaining more gold and experience than many other heroes in the process. Failing to do so will completely ruin the potential that Prophet has. He is recommended for intermediate to advanced players.
Tequoia, the Nature's Prophet

| Lore: |
When Verodicia, Goddess of the Woods, had finished filling in the green places, having planted the coiled-up spirit in the seed, having lured the twining waters from deep within the rock, having sworn the sun its full attention to the growing things, she realized that her own time had reached its end, and like one of the leaves whose fate she had imprinted in the seed, she would fall without seeing the fruiting of her dream. It pained her to leave the world bereft, for the sprouts had not yet broken through the soil--and they would be tender and vulnerable to every sort of harm. She found in her seed pouch one last seed that she had missed in the sowing. She spoke a single word into the seed and swallowed it as she fell. Her vast body decomposed throughout the long winter, becoming the humus that would feed the seedlings in the spring. And on the morning of the vernal equinox, before the rest of the forest had begun to wake, that last seed ripened and burst in an instant. From it stepped Tequoia, Nature's Prophet, in full leaf, strong and wise, possessing Verodicia's power to foresee where he would be needed most in defense of the green places--and any who might be fortunate enough to call him an ally.

Notes:
- When cast, this spell creates an obvious effect on the target point which is visible to both allies and enemies.
- The cooldown and mana cost take effect after this spell is finished casting. Nature's Prophet will not use any mana or waste the cooldown on this spell if he is interrupted while casting (either by enemies or by himself).

Explanation:
Placeholder
|
- Map awareness is especially important with Nature's Prophet. Always be on the lookout for opportunities to gank and push, or kill a low-HP fleeing enemy Hero.
- Teleportation can be canceled intentionally to trick your opponents.
- Teleportation can be used to kill the enemy courier just as well as weakened heroes - if the courier's location is known (perhaps from Clockwerk's Rocket Flare or a chance sighting), it may be a good idea to warp ahead and kill it before it can return to base.
- Sprouting an enemy hero and using Nature's Call will surround your enemy in Treants; this is often far more effective offensively than simply leaving the trees for their short duration.
- Sprout can be used on towers to block their vision and momentarily halt their fire. Consider casting it during tower dives or ranged pushes, if there's no better uses for it.
- Wrath of Nature deals more and more damage as it cuts a swath through enemy units. With each unit passed and hit, the damage increases - Try to send it through as many creeps as you can before it strikes a Hero.
- Make sure to always look out for your team mates. Help them when they are in trouble and assist them when they are trying to get a kill. However, do not Kill Steal.
[edit] Trivia
- During the transition from the original DotA to Dota 2, one of Prophet's skills, Call of Nature, was renamed Nature's Call.
- Nature Prophet's original name was Furion, a reference to the Malfurion Stormrage from the Warcraft universe. [1] However, this had to be changed to avoid copy right laws.
