Razor the Lightning Revenant is a ranged position-based agility tank/carry that employs his abilities to deal massive damage in a relatively short amount of time, chase down the fleeing injured with his speed, and inflict debuffs on more powerful foes. Razor prefers to keep his position or kite his enemies allowing his spells to unleash its full potential. Known for being one of the Anti-carry heroes, Razor specializes in using his opponent's own powers against them, draining them of their damage and using it to smite them, as well as damaging, slowing, and purging them of buffs should they dare cast a spell on him. His ultimate, Eye of the Storm, further enhances his carry-killing powers by inflicting constant, armor-shattering, lightning strikes on the foe with the lowest HP within a 500 radius. For those who rely on their pure brute force alone to fight, there is truly no escape from the Underscape.

Lore: Among the emblematic powers that populate the Underscape, Razor the Lightning Revenant is one of the most feared. With his whip of lightning, he patrols the Narrow Maze, that treacherous webwork of passages by which the souls of the dead are sorted according to their own innate intelligence, cunning and persistence. Drifting above the Maze, Razor looks down on the baffled souls below, and delivers jolts of scalding electricity that both punish and quicken the souls as they decide their own fates, hurrying on toward luminous exits or endlessly dark pits. Razor is the eternal embodiment of a dominating power, abstract and almost clinical in his application of power. Yet he has a lordly air that suggests he takes a sardonic satisfaction in his work.

Can be Improved by Aghanim's Scepter (* shows the improved values). Causes faster strikes that can damage structures as well. When striking buildings, it will only target towers, barracks, and the Ancient.

Notes:

  • Each blast targets the lowest health enemy unit within range.
  • Eye of the Storm does not lower the armor of structures.
  • Damage on buildings is not reduced by siege armor type.
  • The negative armor de-buff from the spell will instantly be removed if Razor is killed during its duration.
  • (**) Does not really matter, the triggered (center to center) area of effect is the same, the difference is existent because of difference in collision size.
  • Strike about 26/38/54 (30/45/66*) times over its duration, allowing a total damage of about 975/1900/3375 (1125/2250/4125*).

Explanation:

  • An early Ring of Protection will cover your early Armor needs. Two Branches will build into a Magic Wand, keeping you sustained. Tango and Salve will be your early healing items for your lane.
  • Ring of Basilius will give you the extra mana regen due to his somewhat high mana costs and small mana pool early on. Boots will help aid you to stick onto your opponents with your skills.
  • Magic Stick (and later on, Magic Wand, along with its attribute boost) will give you the quick burst of healing and mana against enemies. Power Treads will give you the versatility of being more durable, more damage, or more utility. Vanguard makes up for his fragility and forces opponents to blow spells on you.
  • Sange and Yasha gives everything that Razor needs, plus the bonus slow on his attacks, keeping his foes in place. Desolator is great if Razor has high Attack Speed, which is natural considering he is Agility. Heart of Tarrasque is used if he is more anti-carry, giving him more durability to shut down his target. Blade Mail can be a useful way of forcing your enemies to make the tough decision of letting you shut down their carry's damage, or taking lots of damage if they decide to focus you. Butterfly is the strongest durable and damage item on the list, with the 35% evasion and very high DPS potential.

[edit] Tips

  • Yasha is usually the best item to get after the core as it works well with Unstable Current and further increases the movement speed of Razor plus it grants you the opportunity to upgrade it into either the Manta Style or the Sange and Yasha based on different situations.
  • Plasma Field can be manipulated by moving Razor around, since it centers around him. This can help you position yourself so that Plasma Field can hit right at its maximum range.
  • Razor has very few escape mechanisms, but can be deceptively durable with Unstable Current if they do try to focus him.
  • Use Static Link defensively in larger team fights to ensure you can gain the maximum drain amount without putting yourself in a bad position.
  • Eye of the Storm damages the lowest health enemy close to him, making this ability very weak near creep waves. Try to save the ultimate for isolated team fights.
  • In team fights, it is your job to go for the enemy carry and steal his farmed up power for yourself. Once a link has been established and the fight has begun, you may now choose whether to use the stolen damage to smite the supports, or kill the carry yourself.
  • Static Link will not be purged if Razor's target becomes magic immune during the drain.
  • Shadow Blade is an excellent item on Razor because the invisibility will nullify his static link and ult animations.
