Vanguard is an Item purchasable at the Main Shop, under Armor. However, it can only be completed with items from the Secret Shop.

Ability

Damage Block Ability Passive Gives a chance to block damage, depending on the type of hero you are. Chance to Block: 70% Damage Blocked (melee wielder): 40 Damage Blocked (ranged wielder): 20

Notes: Vanguard does not block damage from Plague Wards or Serpent Wards. Note that since Vanguard uses pseudo-random distribution, the actual chance for damage block is closer to 60%.

• Heroes whose default item build includes Vanguard as a core item:  Alchemist, Anti-Mage, Axe, Batrider, Bristleback, Dark Seer, Doom, Kunkka, Naga Siren, Razor, Slardar, Slark, Spectre, Timbersaw, Undying … further results.
• Heroes whose default item build includes Vanguard as a situational item:  Phantom Lancer, Weaver.
